The Phoenix Historic Neighborhoods Coalition (PHNC) works to bring together preservationists from Phoenix's 35 historic neighborhoods and across the Valley and State.

Our Mission

Realizing that our voices are stronger together, PHNC seeks to unite the residents of the historic districts to promote stabilization and preservation of the neighborhoods. The unique character of our historic neighborhoods is prone to erosion without careful maintenance and education initiatives. PHNC works to increase citizen awareness of programs they can take advantage of like the State Historic Property Tax CreditExterior Rehabilitation Grants and other historic property incentives

Our programs such as the enDangered Dozen list and our Historic Neighborhoods Map have helped thousands of Valley residents and visitors learn about Phoenix's unique built history.

Cities need old buildings so badly it is probably impossible for vigorous streets and districts to grow without them.
Old ideas can sometimes use new buildings, new ideas must use old buildings.
